- Andy Murray and his brother Jamie Murray were present at school when, the infamous 1996 Dunblane School massacre took place.
- At the age of 12 he won the junior tournament, “Orange Bowl.” He defeated Tomas Piskacek of Czech Republic, 6-4, 6-1.
- When he was 15, he declined an offer to train with “Ranger Football Club” to concentrate on his tennis career.
