  • Thapa, initially, aspired to become a pilot and wanted to procure a commercial flying license in Delhi.
  • Although born and raised in Sikkim, Thapa’s first acting opportunity came when she was spotted modeling by a casting agent at her college in Kolkata. The agent offered her a role in a local film, which she accepted keenly, however, the film was later shelved and Thapa’s debut was left in vain.
  • In 2007, she was crowned the winner of Mega Miss North East beauty pageant.
  • A few years later, she made her silver-screen debut with the film- I. D. (2012). Thapa’s performance in the movie fetched her two international awards for Best Actress at the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Madrid Film Festival.
  • The following year, Thapa’s Monsoon Shootout, a Hindi thriller, was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie received a warm reception from various international critics.
